Pacific Flyway

Fall is peak season for pelicans, egrets, herons, grebes and one to two million migrating ducks and geese. It's also a great time to make the trek up to Mount McLoughlin, the distinctive 9,495-foot elevation peak along the Cascade crest. Anglers can experience world-renowned fishing on Blue Ribbon streams, free flowing rivers and alpine lakes. Redband Rainbows are routinely caught in Klamath Lake, the largest natural freshwater lake in the Pacific Northwest.
Winter
Snow, Skis, Sleds and So Much Family Fun.
In this gorgeous winter wonderland, ski on groomed cross-country trails or take a guided snowshoe hike by day or moonlight. Hit the slopes for snowcat skiing, or snowmobile for extra thrill. Downhill skiers—head to Willamette Pass Ski Area, located in northern Klamath County, or make the drive to three other regional ski areas. Take an unforgettable sled-dog ride through Klamath Country. Winter is also the season to witness the largest concentration of wintering bald eagles in the continental U.S. Up to 780 eagles winter in the Klamath Basin, with peak numbers usually seen in February.
